I installed from that file and now the game runs smoothly. Then I asked for the patch and he e-mailed a link for the patch he used. He said he has never had such problems and the game never said it was a wrong disk. Then, I contacted the seller of the disk (He is a hardcore gamer and was selling his old ones to buy a new console or something.) and asked him if he had installed the patch and if he had the same problems as me. Their site has no information about Emperor: RotMK, only about new games. The website does not exist anymore and redirects automatically to Activision. Anyway, in the end of the manual it was stated to report to "Vugames" in case of any problem, offering a hyperlink to their website.
I felt it was strange to not find an Adobe Acrobat Reader installer within the CD, as most of old games which came with PDF manuals came with Adobe Reader 5.0/6.0 installer together. Opening the CD I found the Manual in a PDF file. [This message has been edited by GalateiaFK (edited 02-10-2015 09:21 PCDania
I read Patch info and really want to update my game. I belive that always an updated version is better, because developers solve problems. But of all the instances of error arising from. Is there any other reliable place I can find the patch? They do not even ask whether an empire is growing taller in its youth, or only growing fatter in its old age. Therefore, I conclude the problem is with the Patch provided from HG Emperor's website. Windows will close the application and will notify you if a solution is avaiable.I ran SecuROM DT again twice and the same problem occured. This is translated as: SecuROM Diagnostic Tool stoped to workĪ problem made the program stop to work correctly. Then I proceed to check the file "Emperor.exe v 1.0.1.0". It did not find automatically the file, but at least it recognized when I selected it manually. After installation, the same error "Wrong disk inserted" appeared. I concluded "Emperor.exe v 1.0.0.0" do not use SecuROM. In February 2017 the game was re-released on where it holds a 5-star rating. Then I manually selected "Emperor.exe v 1.0.0.0". Despite the positive reviews many were critical of the lack of originality and reported little difference between Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom and previous Impression games. After started, it gave me the option for automatic scan. The application itself said no updates were needed. When I started the program, I make sure it was the latest version. Then I downloaded SecuROM Diagnostic Tool from indicated website. Now it is installed under Windows 7 64bits SP1.Īfter installation, I ran and played the game normally.
Are you sure the game has such feature? Is it different in Windows XP? (the game is installed under Windows XP SP3 + all updates + updated DirectX) Choose 'Launch Analysis' from the menu choices."
you might not need the patchHG site strongly suggests to use the patch, so I would like to install it. I started to play last week, so I did not encountered glitches so far. It is not an expansion, it is a patch which is said to solve glitches in the game. I launched both from CD and from virtualized ISO file on Daemon Tools. But if it has a install option that lets you play it without the disc, and you have the computer space/power needed to run it I'd try that.I have tried that. Maydayp I don't have emperor, so I can't really help.
